Harvey Gording, Grand Champion

Harvey (Harv) Gording, Regina Terminal City Driver, was recently honoured with the Volvo Driver of the Year Award for Saskatchewan. Harv, as our customers know him, is no stranger to the accolades. He has a long track record of Safe Driving awards and has won or placed high in many driving competitions throughout his career as a professional driver for Reimer Express Lines Ltd. The recent award from Volvo recognizes the culmination of this stellar track record.

One only needs to look at Harv's impressive resume of awards to recognize that he takes his career seriously and works hard to be the standard bearer for all professional drivers throughout North America.

In October 1993, the Canadian Trucking Association featured an article about Harv:

"The 1993 CTA/Shell National Championships will undoubtedly be dubbed as the 'Harvey Gording Year'. Like a Gretzky or a Lemieux of the vintage years, this exceptional driver was in a class by himself, reaping virtually all of the honours one can dream of: Rookie of the Year, 1st in the Single/Tandem category and finally the highly prized title of the 1993 Grand National Champion which automatically allows Mr. Gording to be the unique bearer of the prestigious CTA/Shell ring."

Edd Tabashniuk, Terminal Manager of Reimer's terminal in Regina, points out that Harv has many friends among our customers. As just one example, Home Depot scores its carriers on a broad base of service metrics. On a scale of 40, Harv received a 39. Two of Home Depots personnel in charge of receiving commented that "Harv's the best". By any standard, that's an A+!

Harv was also honoured this year as a Million Miler for Reimer Express Lines in the Regina City Operations. The Million Miler program recognizes City Drivers who have completed twelve consecutive years of preventable, accident-free driving. He also completed a total of 20 years of safe driving and is on his way towards becoming a Two Million Miler.

All the honours bestowed upon Harv speak to his character, drive and determination first and foremost. The employees and management of Reimer congratulate Harv on his tremendous efforts.
