As you will see from Larry's list of driving accomplishments, he exemplifies the definition of Professional Driver. He entered his first Provincial Driving Championship in 1978 and has only missed one year since.
Larry is a Grand Champion in another way. Approx 10 years ago Larry and his wife were watching the news and saw where there was a lost 4 year old girl. The station was putting out an alert to all to be on watch for her. Larry decided to go out and also provide some help because it was getting late in evening.
Larry drove out to an area fairly close to where the little girl was last seen and worked from there. After approximately an hour of driving around he noticed a dog in an open field near the main CNR tracks. He walked out into the ditch and heavy grass where he saw this young gal sitting down and the dog was attempting to protect her. The girl would not come to Larry so he went back to his vehicle and called home. Larry's wife Rita came to the scene and was able to get the little gal from the ditch. By this time the police arrived and she was safe and sound. It could have been a bad situation if darkness had come with her being so close to the tracks. A real danger existed.
Larry is a very compassionate person and could not watch this story unfold without getting involved and helping out.
Congratulations Larry on all your accomplishments!
