Five Reimer Express Drivers Place At National Truck Driving Championships [09/30/2004]
Winnipeg, MB. - September 30, 2004 - The Canadian Truck Driving Championships were held in Lethbridge, AB on September the 18th, 2004 and Reimer Express Lines Ltd. was well represented by placing nine individual drivers on four of the provincial teams that went on to compete in the annual event. It was also the largest contingent of qualifiers by any common carrier, or fleet owner based in Canada. At the Nationals, competitors completed a written test, personal interview, pre-trip inspection and a driving maneuverability competition.
Reimer Express is pleased to announce that Harvey Gording of Regina placed first in the single tractor-tandem trailer competition. During his 33-years as an employee with Reimer Express, he has attained many safety awards, including the prestigious one million mile accident free status. Harvey is well known at these competitions, winning or placing high in his class on several occasions and being named the Grand Champion in 1993 and 1999.
Other top finishers for Reimer Express were John Klassen, Winnipeg - 2nd place in the step van category; Larry Radons, Regina - 2nd place in the straight truck class; Gary Good, Winnipeg - 2nd place in the single tractor-single trailer event and Trevor Mulder, Winnipeg - 3rd place in the tandem tractor-tandem trailer competition.
