Reimer Express Awards Scholarship to Outstanding Student

Karly NeveuWinnipeg, MB (July 25, 2007)—Reimer Express Lines Ltd. is very pleased to award Karly Neveu the Dr. Donald S. Reimer Scholarship.

Karly is the 6th recipient of a Reimer Express scholarship, and she earned the scholarship on the basis of academic achievement along with her involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Karly is graduating with honours from the French Immersion Program and has represented the province at national sports competitions and is actively involved in ringette, basketball and track & field.  Karly’s teachers have found her to be an excellent student, a gifted athlete and a supportive and giving friend.  She has been a peer tutor, works with physically and mentally challenged students and coaches high jump at an elementary school. She is a nationally ranked high jumper and was just named Female Athlete of the Year at her high school, Earl Marriott Secondary, in Surrey, B.C.  While maintaining high marks she has given back to the community by volunteering for the Breast Cancer Walk for a Cure, the Cancer Research 24-hour Relay for Life and the 30 hour famine to raise money for third world countries.

This scholarship has a value of $5,000.00 annually for a maximum of four consecutive years to a total of $20,000.00.  The scholarship is open to dependants of Reimer employees.

Karly, the daughter of Dan and Brenda Neveu, plans to attend Boston University and obtain her Masters in Business.  Dan is a twenty-year employee of Reimer Express and is currently the Director of Field Sales for Western Canada.
