To Whom It May Concern;
Effective august 15, 2002, Canada enacted legislation amending its' Dangerous Goods Regulations. These amendments are referred to as the Clear Language Regulations.
This new legislation required all personnel offering, handling or transporting Dangerous Goods to be retrained in the requirements of the New Dangerous Goods Regulations. We at Reimer Express Lines Ltd. take our responsibilities seriously and set about training all of our personnel, whether pickup and delivery drivers, dock handlers, office staff, billing staff or foremen or managers, in these new Regulations.
It is our understanding that the government has stepped up its enforcement of these new regulations; up to and including audits of manufacturers and distributors of dangerous goods.
Our goal is to ensure safe transport of the merchandise you have entrusted to us. We have gone beyond the requirements of the Regulations and have introduced checking points in our transportation system including at the time of pick up, on return to any of our terminals, at the time of document imaging into our state of the art electronic system and even at our billing stations. Our goal is to ensure that we are both in compliance with the Regulations before any shipment leaves our facilities.
Were you aware that our pickup driver not only checks your dangerous goods document for compliance but reviews it with our dispatcher for correctness before we leave your building? It may seem like “over kill”, but in today's society, with the increasing need for security, compliance and accuracy are synonymous with each other. We at Reimer Express Lines, like you our customer, share your goal for doing it right! If we believe it is not right, we stop a shipment and bring it to your attention to get it rectified.
Most recently, you may have received information regarding changes in the United States Regulations. These changes bring their Regulations more closely into line with the Canadian Clear Language Amendment. Their changes were not unexpected.
We hope that we can be of assistance to you in your shipping needs as it relates to hazardous Materials in Canada or the United States. If you have any questions, please contact your local sales representative to discuss your requirements. Please feel free to access our Web page, www.reimerexpress.com, for further information or to even direct a question to us on this topic.
